2012 Commonwealth Awards Event Held December 5, 2012
The 10,000 Friends 2012 Commonwealth Awards were held on December 5 at Lawrence Hall, Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. More than 200 people joined in honoring the life and work of Mark Schneider. Significant local transportation projects were also honored by the Community Transportation Excellence Awards.
The keynote speaker, Richard J. Jackson, MD, MPH, gave a well received speech on the value of thoughtful planning to support the health of communities.
Eight transportation projects funded by the PCTI program were presented the 10,000 Friends 2012 Community Transportation Excellence Award:

A reception followed the event where business leaders, local community leaders and students were able to meet each other.
