The project has transformed a patchwork of 14.3 acres of distressed land, including the transit hub, according to a coordinated strategy to fuel the redevelopment of a formerly core commercial center experiencing a 40 year decline. Phase V is an anchor Target store on 5 acres previously occupied by a distressed high rise apartment building and a parole office. Eastside’s five phases have strategically built a new market, with each phase’s buildings, infrastructure and new businesses redefining expectations on what East Liberty could become.
