10,000 Friends Publishes its Healthy & Walkable Communites Initiative's Action Plan for the South Side of New Castle

March 17, 2017

10,000 Friends has released its Healthy & Walkable Community Assessment and Plan from its first intensive engagement in the South Side neighborhood of New Castle, PA.

This Healthy & Walkable Community Assessment and Plan from 10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania is the culmination of a nearly year long collaborative engagement and learning process in the South Side neighborhood. Our profound thanks go to
the citizens, business community, non-profit institutions, and city government of New Castle, for bringing their insights, imagination, and passion for the neighborhood to our planning process. Our assessment and plan was enriched by the input and participation of many individuals and community groups in New Castle and from across our networks at 10,000 Friends.

This effort to make the South Side healthier would not be possible without the leadership and generous financial support of the
University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, the UPMC Health Plan and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic
Development. We are very grateful for their support.
