Since the state grew more slowly than other parts of the country over the last decade, it's slipping from an allotment of 19 U.S. House seats to 18.

Now, the GOP-led state legislature and Republican Gov. Corbett will decide who gets cast into the outer darkness, and members of the state's delegation on Capitol Hill are already jockeying to protect themselves in the remapping. Scenarios for possible new district boundaries are flying around in political circles, and by the time it's all over, any citizen-activist with a reasonably fast laptop will be able to draw a map and send it to the legislature for consideration."
