Turnpike plans new effort to put tolls on Interstate 80, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

"The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and PennDOT could complete their application to toll Interstate 80 by late next month to start plugging a large gap in transportation funding, Turnpike CEO Joe Brimmeier said Thursday.

The commission plans to submit the final piece of the application to the Federal Highway Administration this fall, an analysis that shows the amount of money it could raise would be at least equal to what a private operator of the road would be able to raise."
