Pocono Environmental Edication Center

Bohlin Cywinski Jacks
Public Infrastructure Projects
This environmental center takes a holistic approach to sustainability through features such as the incorporation of native plants, natural heating and ventilation, and the on-site production of shingles made from tires reclaimed from the nearby Delaware River. In addition to incorporating many sustainable building techniques, the structure is architecturally beautiful with a style that appears both modern and rugged. This project reflects the commitment of its owners to the ideals of environmental stewardship, and it will serve for many years as an ideal place to learn about the natural world.
